China's UN Envoy Calls for Genuine and Lasting Ceasefire in Gaza

China has renewed its call for a genuine and lasting ceasefire in Gaza, urging all parties—particularly Israel—to fully implement ceasefire commitments and take immediate steps to ease the humanitarian crisis. The appeal was delivered by Fu Cong during a meeting of the United Nations Security Council. �

Speaking before the Security Council, Fu Cong stressed that lasting peace cannot be achieved through military force or prolonged occupation. He said that security must be shared and that continued violence only deepens instability and civilian suffering. China called on all sides to fully implement the ceasefire agreement and prevent further escalation in the conflict. �

The Chinese envoy also urged Israel to fulfill its obligations under international humanitarian law by allowing unrestricted humanitarian assistance into Gaza. He emphasized the importance of supporting aid agencies, including the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, to deliver food, medicine, and emergency relief to civilians affected by the conflict. �

In addition, China expressed concern over rising tensions in the West Bank and reiterated that a two-state solution remains the only realistic path toward lasting peace between Israelis and Palestinians.
